Associate Professor & Head of the Department
From the department of EEE at UIU, I extend a hearty greetings to all those connected to the department and also to those who take active interest in our department. From its inception in 2004, the EEE department has crossed great distances and has demonstrated impressive growth over the years. Home to more than 1200 students, the department focuses on innovative technology and the much needed skillset in order to prepare the students for a prosperous career in the backdrop of emerging opportunities in the technology frontier. The support mechanism that the department has adopted has their roots in the rich collection of faculty members, enhancement of the syllabus to adapt to the dynamic nature of the prevalent technology and keeping an effective outreach program with the industry and the academia both at home and abroad.
The EEE department places due emphasis on quality education by proper monitoring of the existing education structure and introducing enhancements by reviewing the major trends in engineering education. The department has been awarded IEB accreditation in recognition for maintaining a high quality of standard of engineering education. The department is proactive in its quest for excellence and is actively engaged with experts to explore the globally adopted Outcome Based Education (OBE) system. The department understands the role of high quality research to stimulate growth and as such, created Center for Energy Research (CER), a highly successful research and consultancy initiative in the field of renewable energy. CER is recognized as a leading authority for its expertise and technology leadership. The department has successfully hosted two sessions of International Conference on Development of Renewable Energy (ICDRET) in 2009 and in 2012 that have earned accolades from home and abroad. The department encourages research collaboration of our faculty members with globally renowned industries and institutions, and this has resulted in several ongoing projects in the field of telemedicine and medical imaging.
The EEE department along with its faculty members and student community is committed and united to place our department as one of the top nationwide. I am certain that we have the potential to reach this goal sooner than later. I thank everyone for the valuable support in bringing us where we are now.
