Outstanding Achievement of EEE Student

Dept. of EEE would like to share an outstanding achievement of one of our EEE, UIU graduates!

Nur Rifat, currently a master’s student in the Dept. of Physics at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Dartmouth, has developed a new computational model that will create new possibilities for black hole research. Rifat’s new model was recently published in one of the top physics journals, Physical Review, as a Rapid Communication (https://journals.aps.org/prd/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevD.101.081502).

Nur did his undergraduate thesis with Dr. Md. Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, Associate Professor, EEE, UIU on quantum mechanical modeling of short channel GAA FET. After graduation, he worked with Dr. Intekhab Alam, Associate Professor, EEE, UIU as a research assistant and contributed to three papers.

We wish him a successful future!
