Al Jumlat Ahmed, EEE UIU Alumnus Completed PhD from Australia
Dept. of EEE would like to share yet another success story of one of our EEE, UIU alumni!
Al Jumlat Ahmed, who did his BSc in EEE from UIU in 2010, has recently completed his PhD from the Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials (ISEM) at the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia (2021). His research area is solid-state physics and material engineering with a specialization in thermoelectric materials or thermal energy materials. In his PhD work, titled “Development of Nano-engineered Perovskite-based Thermoelectric Material for Waste Heat Recovery”, he has developed nano-scale pores and nano-scale grain boundaries into electron doped Sr1-xLaxTiO3 and Ba1-xLaxTiO3 perovskite materials. This technique significantly reduces the lattice thermal conductivity and improves the thermal to electrical energy conversion efficiency.
Dr. Jumlat’s PhD study was fully funded by the Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship of the Australian Government.
We congratulate Dr. Al Jumlat Ahmed for his outstanding achievement and wish him a successful career!
