IEEE UIU SB Industry Visit to Augmedix Bangladesh
August 17, 2025
Exploring Silicon Valley Innovation from Dhaka
On August 14, 2025, a group of 25 enthusiastic students from the Departments of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) at United International University (UIU) participated in an enriching industry visit to Augmedix Bangladesh – a Silicon Valley-based healthtech company that operates in the USA, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Augmedix is widely known for its real-time medical documentation services, combining the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with remote medical scribes to support doctors and healthcare professionals globally. Their solutions are now used in more than 100 clinics and hospitals across the United States, making significant contributions to the digital healthcare ecosystem.
The session began with a warm welcome from Mr. Rashed Noman, Country Director of Augmedix Bangladesh. He shared the inspiring journey of how Augmedix transformed from a startup into a globally recognized company that now provides thousands of jobs while revolutionizing healthcare documentation around the world. His motivational speech encouraged students to think innovatively and work towards global standards.
Following the introductory session, students had an insightful interaction with the Augmedix technical team. The engineers demonstrated how their AI-driven software platform operates in real-time to assist physicians during patient consultations. The technical team presented key tools and workflows that ensure efficiency and accuracy in clinical documentation.
Students had the opportunity to explore:
How remote medical scribes work in real-time with doctors in the US
The integration of AI for speech-to-text conversion and electronic health records
Augmedix’s internal work culture and operational processes
The broader impact of AI in the future of global healthcare
As a gesture of appreciation, a token of thanks was handed over to Augmedix Bangladesh by Naimul Haque, Chairperson of IEEE UIU Student Branch. This moment symbolized the strong connection between academia and industry, and UIU commitment to building bridges with leading technology companies.
This industry tour to Augmedix Bangladesh was not just an educational outing — it was a doorway to understanding how technological innovation can create meaningful global impact. The IEEE UIU Student Branch continues to take such initiatives to expose UIU students to real-world industry environments, helping them become future-ready engineers.
